Mini HDMI lets the Flow V1 keep its ultra-slim 9mm chassis — a full-size HDMI port would require a thicker bezel. To make HDMI connections as flexible as possible, we include a Mini HDMI Adapter (Mini HDMI → full-size HDMI female) that attaches to the monitor's port. You then plug in any standard HDMI cable — the 1m cable is included, but if you want a longer run, a different quality, or you already have one, you can use your own. The result: a sleek monitor that works with any HDMI cable you choose.

Use the included 1m USB-C to USB-C cable — it's specifically rated for DisplayPort Alt Mode (video + power). Third-party cables can work, but they must explicitly support DisplayPort Alt Mode. Charging-only USB-C cables will not carry a video signal. If you're unsure, use the one in the box. Two right-angle USB-C adapters are also included for cleaner routing when using handhelds — attach one end to the cable at the device to keep things tidy.

Try these steps in order: 1. Reseat the USB-C cable at both ends 2. Try a different USB-C port on your device (not all ports support video output) 3. On Windows, press Win + P and select "Extend" or "Duplicate" 4. On SteamOS, go to Settings → Display and check for connected displays 5. Try a different cable if available 6. Windows (ROG Ally, Legion Go, laptop): Right-click desktop → Display Settings → Advanced Display Settings → choose 144Hz for the Flow V1. SteamOS (Steam Deck): Settings → Display → Frame Rate Limit — set to 60 or 90Hz for docked play (144Hz depends on game output). Legion Space: Open Legion Space → Display tab → set refresh rate. Note: actual refresh rate depends on your device's GPU output. The monitor supports up to 144Hz over both USB-C and HDMI.

Yes. The Flow V1 has an on-screen display (OSD) menu. Use the buttons on the right edge of the monitor to navigate: • Short press: open menu / navigate • The power button is also on the right edge From the OSD you can adjust brightness, contrast, colour temperature, and input source. The monitor also has auto-input detection.

Yes — perfectly. The ROG Ally and Ally X both support USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, which means one cable handles power, video, and audio. Just plug in and you're playing at 144Hz. No external power brick needed when connected to the Ally — it powers the Flow V1 directly. It's the setup we designed this screen for.

Yes — the Flow V1 supports 144Hz over both USB-C and HDMI. ROG Ally, Ally X, Steam Deck, and Legion Go all work at 144Hz via USB-C. Even HDMI sources can reach 144Hz (device dependent). For the best experience with handhelds, USB-C is recommended — one cable for display and power.

With handhelds like the ROG Ally or Steam Deck, the USB-C cable powers the monitor directly — nothing else needed. For HDMI sources (Switch, PS5, Xbox) or to extend handheld battery life, connect external power via the USB-C auxiliary power input. The included UK mains power plug (USB-C output) handles this — or use any USB-C power bank.

Yes. Works with any MacBook or Windows laptop that has USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) or HDMI output. Plug it in and it shows up as a second display. Great for working on the go, editing, or extending your desktop when you travel.

Yes — when docked. Connect your Switch dock to the Flow V1 using the included HDMI cable and Mini HDMI Adapter — attach the adapter to the monitor's Mini HDMI port, then connect the HDMI cable between the dock and adapter. The Switch will output at its native resolution and refresh rate. Still a significant upgrade over the 6.2-inch handheld screen.

The Flow V1 accepts HDR input signals from compatible devices, but it's not a true HDR panel. For portable gaming, the 300-nit brightness, 100% sRGB colour accuracy, and IPS panel with matte anti-glare surface deliver excellent image quality without the battery drain and heat that true HDR would add.
